Pink, beautiful, and loved by its caretakers
I am from the peach tree in the backyard
From delicate flowers to wondering
if the peaches are sweet or not
I am from the kitchen
Always full of delicacies to eat
I am from the other side of the world
From Australia to Europe, I want to travel there
I am from the stars,
Small yet radiant enough to be seen just by a special few
I am from the Summer
From droughts to scorching hot weather
I am from the summer breeze making us feel annoyingly humid
Drifting through the wind, where time stops
I am from America
Where liberty stands
I am from Texas
Where we all ride cattle and say "howdy"
As I eat Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream,
I start to daydream
Like a little girl with big hopes
Wondering how ice cream can taste so good
At night, when the moon is brightly lit
She looks out her bedroom window with hope
in her big round eyes
Thinking about what she could possibly desire
While searching for that one special star
Then closing her eyes tightly
She clasps her hands together
And makes a wish upon a star
I am that little girl
Everyone starts out the same,
A child, not knowing anything
From having an imagination
To being completely realistic
All depends on their personality
We are all unique in our own little way
From childhood memories to life lessons
They capture its own moments
Whether they are delightful or embarrassing
As we grow older we understand to embrace those quirks
And learn from our mistakes
To discover alternate paths in life
Our future lies in our hands
I am from each decision I make
From superior to unfortunate decisions
They define who i am
And making it who i am today
I am a delicate flower
Still holding on strong
